ITINERARY

DAY 1

Welcome to Cartagena! Arrive at any time (we can help recommend flights) and we’ll be at the airport waiting to whisk you back to our exclusive accommodations. Unpack, relax, settle in and then why not take a dip in the pool? In the evening we’ll meet for the official welcome and you’ll get to know your fellow travelers over a unique and interactive dining experience in one of the city's finest establishments.

DAY 2

Today we’re hiring our very own speedboat and setting off for some island-hopping around the very tropical Rosario Islands. We’ll swim, snorkel, sunbathe, enjoy the freshest seafood lunch and bask in the pristine beaches and crystal clear sea. Just make sure you save some of your energy for later.

Package Add On: In the evening we'll have a Champeta, an Afro-Caribbean dance, class, and afterward, you may want to hit up the local bar scene to try out your new moves.

Day 3

It’s time for a change of scenery, so we’ll make our way to the town of San Basilio de Palenque about 1 hour outside of Cartagena. Here we'll meet the decendents of one of the first communities of freed Africans in the Americas. As we exchange stories, over a sampling of traditional food from the region, we'll gain insight into the real Colombia. If that wasn't enough, we'll have front row seats to an exhilarating jam session by some of Palenque's world-renowned musicians. If you're lucky, they might even invite you to participate! After the morning adventures, you have the rest of the day to yourself. You could head out of town to the nearby Bazurto market or simply relax by the pool with a cocktail and take in the view from above. . Hopefully, you rest up for the evening's festivities: exploring the heart of Getsemani (Cartagena's coolest district).

DAY 4

Today will start early as we wander the streets of Cartegena's most famed neighborhoods with our very own professional photographer and local guide. Together, we'll enjoy curious murals, interesting history, colonial architecture, and so much more! Don't worry at all if you have zero experience in modeling. The photographer is an expert at providing just the right amount of guidance to make anyone look like a pro. Trust us; this adventure will not disappoint! You'll spend the remainder of the morning/afternoon exploring on your own.

Package Add On: Later, you'll have the option to regroup over a spot of rum tasting and then it’s time for a chiva rumbera (a uniquely Colombian experience that involves a bus, live music, a dancefloor, and even more rum)!

DAY 5

We can’t think of many better feelings than waking up knowing you’re going to spend a day filled with incredible new experiences. The first stop is the otherworldly El Salar de Galerazamba, otherwise known as Colombia's Pink Sea, if conditions permit. We’ll make our way to this most postcard-worthy location, and grab some dope shots while learning about this unique place. Next, we'll head to the Mud Volcano or Volcán de Lodo El Totumo in Spanish -- a 50-foot-tall mud bath renowned for its therapeutic qualities. We'll get dirty. We'll get massaged. We'll get bombarded with requests for tips. But it's all worth it for this once and a life time experience. After this, you'll need a thorough washing so we'll make our way back to the hotel to get cleaned up. You will also get your Covid 19 test today. You can spend the afternoon on your own. For our last evening in Colombia, we’ll share a group dinner in a legendary (and lively) Cartagena restaurant full of music, color and awesome food.

Day 6

All good things must come to an end, and the time has come to say goodbye. But think of all the incredible things you’ve done. You’ve danced champeta, swam pristine waters, felt the heartbeat of a city, mingled with locals, ate awesome food, learned about Colombia’s painful past and shared all of this with some amazing people along the way. Your heart is full and you're ready to bring a bit of the vibrancy you've experienced in Cartagena back into your every day life. After one final breakfast, we’ll take you to the airport in Cartagena to begin your journey home.
